Day 1 and 2

I ran yesterday, and just got back from running today.

Stats for day 1 exercise, 6 minute warm up walk, the C-2-5k exercise, then a 6 minute cool down walk: 38:24, average speed 3.73 mph, burned 403 kcals, length of 2.39 miles.

Stats for day 2 exercise. Shorter walking distance to the track today, so the stats will be a little off compared to yesterdays: 33:58, average speed 4.07 mph, burned 388 kcals, total distance of 2.30 miles.

Tomorrow will be my down day. I’ll walk for an hour or so, no C-2-5k exercise.

  1. Yeah, make sure you rest and recouperate, else your body will hate you…. especially in these beginning stages. Ramp up to it.

Spoken like someone who’s been there Hsoi.

    • Oh yes.

I still have the mental model of an 18 year old, wanting to “go go go”, but I’m no longer 18, and my body reminds me of that from time to time. :-)

Course for Jay he could get away with it, the whippersnapper, but still, it’s smart to take a day off and rest up, because THAT is when the body makes its gains. Exercise breaks the body down, rest is when it builds itself back up a little stronger. Not enough rest, the body will only just break down.
