We have been doing Mechanics of Arrest since Monday, and wow, I hurt from head to toe.

We covered arresting from various positions, take downs from various positions, pressure points, effective baton strikes, weapon disarming/retention, the works.

We have been practicing on each other as the instructors watch. We have been using fake foam batons, but still. All the takedowns, joint locks, etc hurt, and I’ve used muscles I didn’t know I had.

Come on 4 day weekend…

    And I bet by now you’ve realized that 48 hours after the exercise is when the soreness really kicks in.
