Testing

The journey of starting the Academy has begun yet again.

I take the entrance exam for the Basic Peace Officer Course at CAPCOG (Capital Area Council of Governments) Thursday, March 4th at 1:30 p.m. If (more like when) I pass, I have to attend an orientation at 3:30 p.m, where they will dump a stack of documents about 1″ thick on me to get completed and returned.

Taken from the above website:

Candidates must undergo a timed, 3-part test covering basic mathematics, reading comprehension, and basic grammar/spelling skills. This test is administered at CAPCOG RTA by RTA staff on scheduled orientation days. Testing and Orientation days are scheduled for only one BPOC class posting at a time.

Candidates who possess the following criteria are exempt from taking the Academic Testing:
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
• 2 or more years of active military service and a DD-214 (member 4 page) showing an honorable discharge
